Community Emergency Response Team Train the Trainer

| Program Overview: |
This 24 hour, three day course is designed to prepare trainers to teach the CERT material to community members by demonstrating instructional methods. Topics include terrorism, disaster fire suppression, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue, and team organization and management. Participants in this course will practice what they have learned in short teaching presentations. This course is open to individuals who have taken the CERT program and have a working knowledge of CERT. |

Emergency Volunteer Center Workshops: 2007
CaliforniaVolunteers is excited to again offer workshops for local governments on planning for volunteer coordination following a major disaster, emergency or act of terrorism. This all-new curriculum includes how to establish and operate an Emergency Volunteer Center and a functional exercise providing hands-on experience.
The following topics will be discussed at each workshop:
- How to Establish and Operate an Emergency Volunteer Center (EVC)
- Roles of Key Players and Emergency Response Partnerships
- Activating and Staffing the EVC
- Volunteer Intake and Referral Process
- Registration of Disaster Service Worker Volunteers
- Hands-On Practice through a Functional Exercise
All workshops will run from 9 am-1 pm.
