Afterschool Service Clubs
For the 2007-08 school year, California Volunteers, in partnership with Youth Service California awarded more than $2 million in grants for the formation of 77 after school service clubs in Title 1 middle schools across the state. Students participating in clubs identify community needs, conduct research, organize service projects, and involve the larger community in their efforts. In addition, clubs organize a quarterly large-scale service project to engage other students and the larger community.
