Coachella Valley Recreation and Park District (Mecca)

Coachella Valley Recreation and Park District (CVRPD) offers programs and activities for residents of Palm Desert, La Quinta, Indio, Thousand Palms, Thermal, Mecca, Coachella, Bermuda Dunes, North Shore, Oasis, Indio Hills, Indian Wells, Rancho Mirage and Vista Santa Rosa. CVRPD is committed to providing the best service possible. To the communities we serve. CVRPD provides afterschool youth programs, which focus on creativity, innovation, and development. Currently, CVRPD provides an enriching place to play for young people in Mecca, CA, a rural farm area with a population of 5,000.

Mecca has one play area that sits between the local park, the elementary school, and community center. The current play structure, built in 2001, serves approximately 700 kids daily. Through the playground project, CVRPD will be able to relocate the existing structure to another more central location, allowing the residents of Mecca to receive a playground that fits the needs of its community.
