Watts Labor Community Action Committee (Los Angeles)

The mission of the Watts Labor Community Action (WLCAC) committee is to improve the quality of life for residents of the Greater Watts Community. For the past 40 years, WLCAC has worked to further its mission by providing housing, transportation, and other social, cultural, and community development programs and services for adults and youth living in Watts.

Currently, the WLCAC does not have any play equipment for the children it serves; and, a makeshift basketball court is the only area in which youth engage in creative outdoor activity. However, through this playground project, an innovative outdoor play space will allow local youth opportunities to engage in activities that promote healthy physical and social development in a controlled environment.
