Frequently Asked Questions - Type of Applicant
Submit a question
We currently receive funding through CNCS for AmeriCorps VISTA. We have also served as a placement site for AmeriCorps members through [a current AmeriCorps grant]. We only have two members placed with us, and we are not involved in the submission of the grant. Are we considered a new or experienced applicant?
A new applicant is one in which neither the legal applicant, nor primary partnering organizations, nor individuals involved in developing the current AmeriCorps application have developed an AmeriCorps application that has been awarded an operating grant, or were previously employed as core program staff of a funded program state commission staff or Corporation staff in the last five years. Managing a VISTA grant is different than an AmeriCorps operating grant and, therefore, would not classify an agency as "experienced."
