Disaster Volunteer Summits
Enhancing and Understanding Volunteer Coordination in Disasters
CaliforniaVolunteers, in partnership with the Governor's Office of Emergency Services, the California Office of Homeland Security, and key local partners is hosting seven Disaster Volunteer Summits across California.
These Summits are open to local, state, and tribal government agencies involved in emergency management; volunteer service providers, voluntary agencies, volunteer programs, and non-governmental organizations active in volunteer management in disaster.
The purpose of the Summits is twofold: 1) to familiarize public, private, and non-profit organizations within each California mutual aid region of the volunteer resources available and how to access them in times of disaster, and 2) to increase the capacity of local, regional, and state emergency management organizations to manage volunteer resources during emergencies and disasters.
Please note:
- All Summit attendees must be pre-registered two days prior to the event.
- Please register for a session that's local to the area in which you serve.
- Registrant check-in begins at 9:00am and Summits will adjourn by 2:30pm.
