The California Service Alliance’s work contributes to — and is part of — a larger effort to make a difference in all of the nation’s communities. Throughout the country, numerous organizations support national service, volunteerism, service-learning, etc.
America’s Promise — National organization that promotes, and encourages partners to support, its Five Promises for youth: ongoing relationships with caring adults, safe places, healthy start and future, marketable skills through effective education and opportunities to give back through community service.
America’s Service Commissions (ASC) — A nonprofit, nonpartisan association of governor-appointed state service commissions, ASC provides technical assistance and support to its member commissions and works to advance voluntary service in all its forms.
Campus Compact — A coalition of college and university presidents committed to building civic learning into campus and academic life. Campus Compact has a membership of 950 public and private two- and four-year colleges and universities.
Corporation for National and Community Service — Federal agency that provides service opportunities for Americans of all ages and backgrounds through oversight of three programs: Senior Corps, AmeriCorps and Learn and Serve America.
Hands on Network — Formerly known as City Cares, the national network of local affiliates engages more than 350,000 volunteers in project-based community service.
Independent Sector — Membership organization composed of nonprofits, foundations and corporate philanthropy programs. It focuses on strengthening, empowering and partnering with nonprofit and philanthropic organizations to advance their work on behalf of the public good.
National AmeriCorps Association — Association of former AmeriCorps members. The Association strives to develop its members and promote their continued involvement in service and civic activities.
National Association of Service and Conservation Corps — Association composed of the nation’s 106 service and conservation corps. NASCC provides its membership with a national voice, public education support, peer learning opportunities and technical assistance resources.
Points of Light Foundation — National organization that promotes volunteerism and engages millions of volunteers through a network of Volunteer Centers, as well as partnerships with businesses, nonprofits, government agencies and other organizations.
United Way of America — Mobilizes human, financial and other resources to meet local needs through a network of approximately 1,400 community-based affiliates.
USA Freedom Corps— Federal coordinating entity that strives to strengthen a culture of service and help find opportunities for all Americans to volunteer in their hometowns, across the country or around the world.
Youth Service America — National organization and resource center that partners with thousands of organizations committed to increasing the quality and quantity of volunteer opportunities for young people in America, ages 5-25 years.
